Yes, I did this. Using Adobe Illustrator and brushes
& (of course) Chuck Jones as a point of reference . Hope he doesn't take offense... it was done with the deepest reverence for his amazing body of work.

Voting rally for WA Democratic candidates at Flying Heritage Collection, Everett, Wa

Stop action still frame video. My view of Monday's rally. Kept it brief - and delayed - out of respect for those who are fortunate enough to pursue this visual interest as more than a hobby. I realize it outs me as a liberal - as if there was much question to that. If this gets one more person to vote this important mid-term election - I'll have done my part. Don't forget to VOTE before Nov. 2nd!!! (and THANK YOU!!!)

Behind a cellphone photo op

Behind a cellphone photo op, originally uploaded by bijoubaby.

Campaign season in WA state. Paine Field, Flying Heritage Collection hanger. A Senator incumbent invites a former US President to speak... basic get-out-the-vote in a race that matters. Time to leave and the crowd presses for their brief moment with the departing guests. A lady leans over and I snapped the picture, the photo couldn't happen otherwise. I was pretty far back... but close enough when the lady leaned forward.

Two hours and sixteen minutes

Two hours and sixteen minutes, originally uploaded by Paul Alsop.

10-10-10 I sit in a cloudbank surrounded by windy rain. Naturally it makes sense to find better vistas while the apples cook. The auroras for less than a minute and a half is better than looking outside. Enjoy & thanks artist Paul Alsop for creating this happy moment - for me it's one of the best natural things I can imagine.

If You Believe in a Unicorn

Perfect color and blur - a rainbow is seldom this unique.

Oh, and 'Don't call me horse...'

Unicrons aren't as nice as unicorns - but at least they're funny.

I imagine Leo Lionni was inspired by images like this one... anyway, that what I thought when i came upon this naturally muted combination of shape, color and line.

DO OR NOT - THERE IS NO TRY

Friday evening, I was part of a group project for the Seattle version of 48hr. film project. After less than 12 hours together shooting footage... after a very long night - a couple of key people in an eight man team decided they no longer wanted to participate, and abruptly abandoned the group project. Needless to say, the incomplete status of the group portion of the project was a sincere disappointment. There were no winners here - lousy result of the small group - short deadline dynamic. Our group leader gave up a decent entry fee, the rest of us gave up a twelve hour day. That shiny ~expensive~ Adobe CS5 software prize potential sure looked mighty fine to me... The following images were before everything imploded. I edited the video to reflect the lack of completion - the one thing that prevented group success - one second at a time - I still took photos, I still completed my portion - solo - because that's what I do... so here's what I have to offer. The lesson here - as in life - no film is completed alone - without the complete input from the group - there will always be something missing. Thanks 10 Doors Creative, the very professional unnamed participants. And last, the two anonymous non-finishers - for inspiring me to quote Yoda regarding an aborted independent sci-fi film project. For giving the rest of us another important lesson in lame creative group dynamics. Good luck to the real lovers of film making - the 48 hr. Seattle film project finishers.
